Hello, You Found Us!

Welcome to Avenue de Havilland

A little town with big hearts, hidden corners, and everyday adventures

Bonjour, Goedendag & Welcome to Havillandville.

When we moved to Havillandville, one of the first places I wanted to explore was the little shopping street just a short walk from our home.

Avenue de Havilland.

At first glance, it may look like an ordinary Belgian village street — a row of shops, houses, cafés, and familiar places you might pass without a second thought. But once you slow down, you begin to notice all the little details.

The bakery window filling with freshly baked bread in the morning.
The florist changing displays as the seasons arrive.
The bookshop shelves quietly waiting for someone to discover a new story.
The café tables where people sit for a coffee and a conversation.

This is the street where we learned where to buy our groceries, where to find the things we needed for our new home, and where we slowly started recognising familiar faces.

When we first arrived, we had boxes everywhere, a house full of renovation projects, and a very long list of things still to do.

Avenue de Havilland became our practical little lifeline.

A quick walk to the supermarket.
A visit to the hardware shop.
Picking up fresh bread.
Finding something unexpected in a little shop window.

And then, without really noticing, these places became part of our routine.

The children began discovering their favourite places too. Some shops became familiar stops, some shopkeepers became people we looked forward to seeing, and some visits that were meant to take five minutes somehow turned into much longer adventures.

Avenue de Havilland is not a grand shopping district. It is a real village street — useful, charming, changing with the seasons, and full of the everyday places that quietly hold a community together. Come and take a walk with us.

Let me introduce you to the places we visit, the people who run them, and the little corners of Avenue de Havilland that have become part of our story.

Explore Havillandville

Every street has a story. Every corner has a friend. And some places hold little secrets…

Take a look around the map and you’ll discover the places that have slowly become part of our everyday life — from the cosy streets of Avenue de Havilland to the little shops, parks, gardens, and hidden corners where memories are made.

Havillandville may be a small town, but it is full of wonderful people, familiar faces, unexpected adventures…

…and perhaps even a few secrets waiting to be discovered.

Most of the time there is nothing happening here. Just the normal everyday things.

A visit to the bakery might turn into a chat with a neighbour.
A walk through the park might lead to a new discovery.
A trip to the shops might become an afternoon adventure.
And sometimes, the smallest paths can lead to the biggest surprises.

As you explore the map, you’ll meet the people who make Havillandville special — our neighbours, our friends, the shopkeepers who know us by name, and the places that have become part of our family story.

But sometimes if you look carefully…you might find something unexpected.

A hidden pathway.
A forgotten story.
A little mystery.
A secret waiting for someone curious enough to find it.

So grab your imagination and follow the paths…

You never know what you might discover around the next corner. 🌿

Running through the heart of Havillandville, this charming street is where neighbours pass each other with a friendly hello, where shopkeepers know their regular customers, and where ordinary errands often become little adventures. Lined with cosy cafés, local shops, beautiful flower displays, and familiar faces, Avenue de Havilland is more than just a street — it is where the village comes together.

In the mornings, you might smell fresh bread drifting from the bakery, hear the gentle chatter of neighbours picking up their groceries, or see children walking home from school with stories to share. As the seasons change, the street changes with them — flower boxes bloom in spring, leaves decorate the pavements in autumn, and warm lights sparkle from windows during the winter months. From the Supermarché where families collect their everyday essentials, to the bookshop and library where stories wait on every shelf, the café where conversations begin, and the little places that offer kindness, care, and creativity — every corner of Avenue de Havilland has its own story.

And just a little walk from our home, you’ll find the charming little shopping street of Avenue De Havilland.

It is the kind of street you could discover in almost any Belgian village — a place where neighbours greet each other, shopkeepers know familiar faces, and everyday errands often turn into little moments of connection.

With cosy cafés, colourful flower boxes, welcoming shops, and friendly faces around every corner, this is where village life happens.

Discover The Shops @ Avenue De Havilland

Avenue De Havilland Supermarche

Tucked along Avenue de Havilland, the little Supermarché is where many of our everyday village moments begin. It is the place where neighbours stop by for fresh bread, colourful fruits and vegetables, pantry essentials, and all the little things needed to fill a family kitchen. Unlike the big supermarkets in busy cities, this is the kind of place where people still say hello, where familiar faces meet between the shelves, and where a quick grocery trip often turns into a friendly conversation. From seasonal produce to local treats, the Supermarché is a small but important part of village life — a place where everyone feels welcome.

The Grocer - Monsieur Eric

Meet the Grocer — The Friendly Face Behind the Supermarché

Every village has someone who knows what is happening before anyone else… and in Havillandville, that person is our friendly grocer.

With a smile always ready and a careful eye for the freshest produce, the Supermarché owner knows the little preferences of many families who walk through the doors. They remember who loves the sweetest apples, who always searches for a favourite treat, and who needs a little extra help carrying their bags home.

For us, the grocer is more than the person behind the counter. They are one of the familiar faces that make Havillandville feel like home — someone who watches the seasons change, welcomes new neighbours, and helps keep the heart of the village beating one basket of groceries at a time.

Bureau De Poste @ Avenue De Havilland

Tucked along Avenue de Havilland, the little Bureau de Poste is where messages, memories, and moments travel in and out of the village. With its charming blue doorway, flower boxes, and warm wooden interior, it is more than just a place for stamps and parcels — it is a meeting point where neighbours exchange greetings, families send letters, and every delivery carries a little story. From birthday cards and postcards to important packages and handwritten notes, the post office helps keep De Havillandville connected to the world beyond its cobblestone streets.

The Postman - Monsieur Étienne

The Friendly Face Behind the Letters of Havillandville

Every village has someone who knows the stories before anyone else does, and in Havillandville, that person is Monsieur Étienne or le Facteur du Village.

With his familiar navy postman’s uniform, warm smile, and carefully organised satchel, Étienne spends his days travelling through the winding streets of the village, delivering letters, parcels, birthday cards, and little surprises that connect neighbours near and far.

But Étienne is much more than the person who brings the post. He is one of those familiar faces who makes a village feel like home. He remembers who is waiting for an important letter, who has moved into a new house, whose birthday is coming up, and which neighbours might need a friendly hello along the way.

Rain or sunshine, Henri can be found walking along Avenue de Havilland, greeting shopkeepers, chatting with residents, and making sure every letter reaches the right doorstep. Children love seeing him arrive because sometimes his parcels contain exciting discoveries, handwritten notes, or stories from faraway places.

To the people of Havillandville, Monsieur Étienne is a little piece of the village’s heartbeat — a reminder that even in a busy world, there is still something magical about receiving a letter, a parcel, or a simple message from someone who cares.

Boulangerie @ Avenue De Havilland

Located on the charming Avenue de Havilland, the Boulangerie is one of the first places to wake up each morning. As the village begins its day, the smell of freshly baked bread, golden croissants, and warm pastries fills the streets. Families stop by to pick up breakfast, neighbours meet for a quick chat, and children eagerly choose their favourite treats before continuing their adventures. The Boulangerie is more than just a bakery — it is a familiar part of everyday life in Havillandville. From a simple baguette for the family table to a special cake for a celebration, every loaf and pastry is made with care and brings a little warmth into the homes of the village.

The Boulanger - Monsieur Laurent

The Warm Heart Behind the Bread of Havillandville

Every village has someone who knows the stories before anyone else does, and in Havillandville, that person is Monsieur Henri.

With his familiar navy postman’s uniform, warm smile, and carefully organised satchel, Henri spends his days travelling through the winding streets of the village, delivering letters, parcels, birthday cards, and little surprises that connect neighbours near and far.

But Henri is much more than the person who brings the post.

To the people of Havillandville, Monsieur Henri is a little piece of the village’s heartbeat — a reminder that even in a busy world, there is still something magical about receiving a letter, a parcel, or a simple message from someone who cares.

Patisserie @ Avenue De Havilland

Nestled along Avenue de Havilland, the Pâtisserie is where beautiful creations, delicate flavours, and a little bit of sweetness come together. Unlike the everyday breads found at the Boulangerie, the Pâtisserie specialises in carefully crafted desserts, elegant cakes, pastries, and special treats made for life’s memorable moments. From birthday cakes and celebration desserts to small afternoon treats enjoyed with a cup of tea, every creation is prepared with patience and imagination. The Pâtisserie is a favourite stop for villagers looking for something a little special. The windows are always filled with beautiful displays, seasonal creations, and tempting desserts that make people slow down for a moment and enjoy the little pleasures in life.

Monsieur Julien — Le Pâtissier du Village

The Creative Hands Behind the Sweetest Moments of Havillandville

At the heart of the Pâtisserie is Monsieur Julien, a talented pastry chef in his late thirties who combines creativity, patience, and a love for bringing joy to others.

Every morning, Monsieur Julien carefully prepares his beautiful pastries, experimenting with flavours, decorating cakes, and creating desserts that are almost too pretty to eat. With his precise techniques and artistic eye, he turns simple ingredients into little works of art.

Although he takes great pride in his craft, Monsieur Julien is known throughout Havillandville for being warm, approachable, and always willing to share a smile. He remembers special occasions, helps villagers choose the perfect cake, and loves creating something unique for every celebration.

To him, pâtisserie is not only about desserts — it is about the moments they create.

A birthday candle being blown out.
A family gathering around a table.
A surprise treat after a long day.

Le Pâtissier du Village brings a little sweetness to everyday life in Havillandville — one beautiful creation at a time

Fleuriste Avenue de Havilland

Tucked along Avenue de Havilland, the Fleuriste is a little corner of colour, fragrance, and seasonal beauty. Throughout the year, the shop changes with nature’s rhythm — bright spring flowers in delicate baskets, cheerful summer arrangements, warm autumn colours, and elegant winter displays that bring life to the colder months. Villagers visit the Fleuriste for many reasons: a bouquet to brighten someone’s day, flowers for a celebration, plants for their homes, or simply a moment of beauty during an ordinary walk through the village. The shop is filled with carefully arranged flowers, leafy plants, charming decorations, and little touches that make everyone feel welcome. It is a place where nature and kindness come together, reminding everyone that even the smallest flower can bring a little happiness.

The Florist - Mme. Juliette

The Gentle Hands Behind the Blossoms of Havillandville

At the heart of the Fleuriste is Madame Juliette, the kind and thoughtful woman who brings colour and beauty to Avenue de Havilland.

With her natural understanding of flowers and her creative eye for arrangements, Madame Juliette carefully chooses every bloom and creates displays that reflect the changing seasons. She knows which flowers brighten a home, which plants need a little extra care, and which bouquet might bring comfort or joy to someone who needs it.

But Madame Juliette’s gift goes beyond flowers.

She has a wonderful way of noticing people — remembering birthdays, preparing special arrangements for celebrations, and helping villagers choose the perfect flowers for important moments.

Whether someone is looking for a cheerful bouquet, a new plant for their home, or simply a friendly conversation surrounded by beautiful colours, Madame Juliette always welcomes them with warmth.

Glacier @ Avenue De Havilland

On a sunny corner of Avenue de Havilland, you’ll find the cheerful Glacier, a favourite stop for villagers of all ages. With colourful flavours, handmade ice creams, and delicious seasonal creations, the Glacier brings a little happiness to every day. During warm afternoons, families gather outside with their cones, children carefully choose their favourite flavours, and neighbours enjoy a sweet moment together before continuing their day. The Glacier is not just a place for ice cream — it is a place for celebrations, small treats, and happy memories. From the first ice cream of spring to special desserts shared during village events, every visit feels like a little occasion. The shop changes with the seasons, offering refreshing fruit flavours in summer, cosy winter treats, and new creations that keep villagers coming back to discover what’s new.

Mademoiselle Camille — La Maîtresse Glacier du Village

The Sweetest Smile Behind the Ice Cream of Havillandville

At the heart of the Glacier is Mademoiselle Camille, a talented and cheerful ice cream maker who believes that every scoop should bring a little joy.

With her creativity and passion for flavours, Camille carefully prepares her homemade ice creams, combining classic favourites with seasonal surprises. She knows that choosing an ice cream flavour is sometimes a very important decision — especially for the youngest visitors of Havillandville!

Beyond her delicious creations, Camille is loved for her warm personality and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She remembers favourite flavours, prepares special treats for celebrations, and always has a kind word for customers who stop by.

To Camille, ice cream is not just a dessert.

It is a childhood memory.
A summer afternoon.
A family moment.
A reason to smile.

La Maîtresse Glacier du Village brings sweetness, creativity, and a little sprinkle of happiness to Avenue de Havilland — one scoop at a time.

Boutique Sensorielle @ Avenue De Havilland

Tucked away on Avenue de Havilland is the Boutique Sensorielle, a calm and welcoming space created for comfort, discovery, and connection. Unlike a typical shop, this is a place designed to be experienced slowly. Inside, visitors find soft textures, calming colours, gentle lighting, sensory toys, creative materials, weighted cushions, comforting objects, and thoughtful tools that help people explore the world in their own way. Families visit the Boutique Sensorielle for many reasons — to discover new resources, find something comforting, or simply spend time in a place where everyone is welcomed exactly as they are. The shop has a peaceful atmosphere where there is no rush and no expectation to be the same as everyone else. Children can explore, touch, discover, and take their time while parents find ideas, support, and understanding.

Boutique Sensorielle - Mme. Élise

The Gentle Heart Behind the Sensory Space of Havillandville

With her calm voice, patient nature, and deep appreciation for different ways of experiencing the world, Élise has a gift for making families feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door.

She carefully chooses every item in the shop — from soft fabrics and creative materials to calming tools and playful discoveries — always thinking about how each person might feel, explore, and connect.

Madame Élise understands that every child is unique. She knows that some children need quiet spaces, some need movement, some communicate differently, and some simply need a little more time.

To many families in Havillandville, she is more than a shopkeeper.

She is a listening ear.
A reassuring presence.
A person who reminds everyone that there is no single way to experience the world.

La Gardienne du Bien-Être Sensoriel brings compassion, comfort, and understanding to Avenue de Havilland — creating a place where everyone belongs.

Jardinerie @ Avenue De Havilland

At the edge of Avenue de Havilland, surrounded by greenery and the changing seasons, you’ll find the village Jardinerie — a place where gardens begin and ideas slowly grow. Inside and outside the shop, visitors discover everything needed to bring nature closer to home: colourful flowers, young plants, seeds, herbs, gardening tools, pots, and little treasures waiting to find their place in a garden. The Jardinerie changes throughout the year with the rhythm of nature. In spring, it fills with bright blooms and new beginnings. In summer, it becomes a place of abundance and growing gardens. In autumn, villagers come looking for plants, bulbs, and inspiration for the seasons ahead.

Mme. Claire — La Jardinière du Village

The Green Heart Behind the Gardens of Havillandville

At the heart of the Jardinerie is Madame Claire, a gentle and knowledgeable woman who has always had a special connection with nature.

With her practical advice, muddy gardening gloves, and endless patience, Claire helps villagers choose the right plants for their homes and teaches them that beautiful gardens are created slowly, one little seed at a time.

She knows which flowers thrive in the Belgian seasons, which herbs belong near a kitchen window, and which plants can transform even the smallest outdoor space into a peaceful corner. But what people love most about Madame Claire is not only her knowledge — it is her encouragement. She reminds everyone that gardening is not about perfection. A garden grows through care, patience, and a little bit of love.

When the Star Family begins creating their own garden, Madame Claire becomes a wonderful guide, helping them discover the joy of planting, growing, and watching something new take root. La Jardinière du Village brings nature, knowledge, and a little green magic to Avenue de Havilland.

Cafe du Village @ Avenue De Havilland

At the heart of Avenue de Havilland sits the Café du Village, a cosy little gathering place where the pace of the day slows down. With warm lights glowing through the windows, comfortable chairs, and the smell of fresh coffee and homemade treats, the café is where villagers come to take a break, share stories, and enjoy simple moments together. In the morning, you might find neighbours stopping by for coffee, parents sharing a quiet moment after the school run, or friends meeting for a little catch-up. In the afternoon, the tables fill with conversations, laughter, and the occasional slice of cake from the village pâtisserie. The Café du Village is not just about food and drinks — it is about connection. It is where celebrations are planned, friendships grow, and people have a place to simply sit and enjoy the day.

Madame Amélie — La Gardienne du Café du Village

The Warm Welcome Behind the Conversations of Havillandville

At the heart of the Café du Village is Madame Amélie, a warm and thoughtful woman who has a natural talent for making people feel at home.

With her welcoming smile, excellent memory, and gentle sense of humour, Amélie knows that a café is about much more than what is served on the menu. It is about the people who walk through the door and the moments they share inside.

She remembers favourite drinks, notices when someone needs a little extra kindness, and always seems to know when a neighbour would appreciate a friendly chat.

Whether she is preparing a morning coffee, arranging a cosy corner by the window, or listening to the latest village news, Madame Amélie creates an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

With his creative mind, friendly personality, and love for discovering new games and toys, Thomas carefully chooses every item that enters his shop. He believes the best toys are not always the biggest or most expensive ones — sometimes the simplest things inspire the greatest adventures.

He knows which puzzles challenge curious minds, which crafts inspire creativity, and which cuddly toys become lifelong companions.

She especially loves helping children choose their first notebooks, guiding young artists toward new materials, and finding exactly what someone needs for their next project.

To the people of Havillandville, Madame Léonie is more than a shopkeeper.

She is an encourager of ideas.

Working alongside Charlotte is Mme. Gianna, a caring ABA therapist who supports children in developing confidence, independence, and everyday skills.

With her thoughtful and positive approach, Gianna focuses on understanding each child as an individual. She creates supportive activities that help children explore routines, communication, play, social connection, and daily experiences in a way that feels encouraging and respectful. Gianna knows that every child learns differently. She takes time to observe, understand, and celebrate progress — whether it is a small new skill, a moment of interaction, or a step towards greater independence. For families, she provides reassurance, guidance, and a sense that they are not walking the journey alone.

Parc des Étoiles @ Avenue De Havilland

At the end of Avenue de Havilland, where the village begins to meet the woods, you’ll find Parc des Étoiles — a peaceful green space where families come together throughout the seasons. With winding paths, old trees, open grassy areas, flower borders, and little corners waiting to be discovered, the park is one of the favourite places in Havillandville for both children and adults. On sunny afternoons, children run, play, and create their own adventures. Families enjoy gentle walks, neighbours stop for conversations, and little explorers search for interesting leaves, hidden paths, and signs of nature changing with the seasons. The park is also a place for quiet moments — reading under a tree, enjoying a picnic, watching birds, or simply taking a peaceful walk after a busy day.

Our Little Home Beside the Woods

This is the Star Family Residence

At the end of one of the quietest streets in Havillandville, surrounded by trees and the gentle sounds of nature, you’ll find our home. When we first arrived, we immediately felt something special about this house. It was peaceful, private, and tucked away beside the woods — a place where mornings felt calmer, evenings felt quieter, and there was always a little corner waiting to be discovered. It quickly became our favourite place in the village. With its beautiful garden, cosy rooms, and the woods just beyond our doorstep, this house gave us the space to slow down, rebuild, and create a home filled with memories. Of course, it was not perfect when we arrived. There were boxes to unpack, rooms to transform, and many projects waiting for us. But little by little, with care, patience, and a lot of love, it became our own special place. This is where our family adventures begin.

Welcome to My Blog

Se what we're up to! All the usual mundane stuff.

Havillandville is a fictional town created for The Star Family Series. Although this little town is inspired by the charm, warmth, and everyday beauty of life in Belgium, the streets, homes, businesses, families, characters, and events have been lovingly imagined and transformed for storytelling purposes. To protect the privacy of real people and communities, all names, locations, details, and circumstances have been changed, combined, or created through imagination. Any resemblance to actual people, places, businesses, organisations, or events is purely coincidental and no connection, association, or representation is intended. The stories shared here are inspired by emotions, memories, family experiences, and the little moments that make life meaningful — but Havillandville exists as its own fictional story world. A place where neighbours become friends, ordinary days become adventures, and every corner has a story waiting to be discovered. 🌿
