Max’s Diary-Style Journal Entry
May 30th — A Most Unexpected Packing Situation
Something extraordinary has happened! We are leaving the city today and travelling to Pickleberry Falls, where Granny Maple lives.
This should be simple, but it is not.
Tilly has packed three hats, two notebooks, one toy rabbit, and a very suspicious number of biscuits. I have packed properly, of course, with pencils, my journal, a magnifying glass, and sensible socks, because one never knows when socks may become important.
Admiral Whiskers has climbed into my suitcase and is refusing to move. He appears to believe he is in command of the entire expedition. This is incorrect, as I am the official recorder. However, he does have sharper claws.
Granny Maple says she has something splendid to show us when we arrive.
This sounds mysterious.
Also slightly concerning.
Crumbs. I had better sharpen my pencil. The Sparkly Expedition may be starting sooner than expected!
